Big Signs of Spring in February

It wasn't just the snowdrops welcoming in the Spring at our first ever social event.

For the First Time Ever

Our inaugural social event, the Snowdrop Social, took place over the weekend. These self-guided events aim to highlight the natural beauty of the woodland at specific times throughout the year. We want to share this serene experience with all of you & offer a chance to relax, connect with nature & rejuvenate by feeling the earth beneath your feet, the sun on your face, and the wind in your hair. Let's #ReWild ourselves together.

Taking a Tour

We warmly received visitors at Fox Covert on a gorgeous afternoon, offering them refreshing welcome drinks before guiding them through the Eastern part of the woodlands, where charming Winter wildflowers bloom. During this tour, a guide shared insights into the ecology of these plants, their historical significance in the UK & the stories behind their presence in the area.

The guided tour proceeded with visitors exploring traditional folklore tales, oral histories about the flowers, and the superstitions linked to them.

Free to #GoExplore

After a guided tour, visitors were encouraged to #GoExplore the woodlands on their own. They had the opportunity to discover the early signs of Spring, such as emerging bluebells & foxgloves, sprouting daffodils & even blooming flowers. Some guests were surprised to find bees in February at Fox Covert. The trees were awakening from dormancy & blossoms were visible in the South of the woods.

During their free time in the woods, guests enjoyed resting, socializing, reflecting & connecting with the natural surroundings.

Some visitors took the chance to sit under the shade of a majestic oak tree, feeling the gentle breeze & listening to the soothing sounds of birds chirping in the distance. Others wandered along the winding paths, admiring the intricate patterns of sunlight filtering through the leaves. It was a peaceful & rejuvenating experience for everyone, a moment of tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The beauty of the woodlands at Fox Covert was truly enchanting, a reminder of the wonders of the natural world & the importance of taking time to appreciate its nobility.

More Socials to Come

Just a few months away is the Bluebell Social. Another chance to enjoy an afternoon where everything seems to slow down, take advantage of the relaxed place to ground & #ReWild yourself while you strengthen your appreciation of the natural world.

Heartfelt Gratitude

Finally, I want to express my gratitude to all who joined us in the woods. It brings me great joy to share Fox Covert with others, witnessing everyone discover our natural surroundings & hearing laughter & voices carried by the wind.

Have a fantastic weekend and enjoy the wonderful weather. Looking forward to seeing you in the woods.

Sincerely

JG
