Little Jars of Joy

Creating Spell Jars with Callisto Holistics among the bluebells.

An Ancient Tradition in the Craft

Nestled amidst trees and wildflowers, the inaugural Spell Jar workshop by Callisto Holistic unfolded.  Participants, led by a seasoned practitioner, had the opportunity to craft their own mystical keepsakes to enhance their manifestations.

For centuries, the practice of creating Spell Jars has been embraced by both experienced witches & newcomers to the world of magic.  These potent tools play a crucial role in various intentions such as protection & manifestation.

Witch bottles, known as spell jars in modern witchcraft, hold a rich history in the realm of witchcraft.  The ancient practice of infusing spells into physical containers & positioning them in specific places has been a longstanding tradition.  Ancestors believed these vessels safeguarded their homes & surroundings from negative forces and spirits.  Today, modern witches continue this tradition by utilizing spell jars & witch bottles to manifest intentions, honoring the ancient customs that have been passed down through generations. And as always it's a honour to provide a venue for these ancient practices.

Making Magick

Guests arrived in the woodlands to a welcoming fire, herbal teas & a breathtaking carpet of bluebells.

Aimee then led a series of grounding activities, emphasizing our bond with nature and the task at hand.  Following this, participants penned their intentions before delving into the local flora & its historical significance in the craft.

Equipped with this knowledge, visitors ventured into the woodland & nearby countryside to gather ingredients for their spell jars.  Upon returning to basecamp with their collected items, everyone had the chance to discover the properties of various crystals & choose the suitable ones for their jars.

The next step for the guests was to purify their spell jars, then add all the ingredients before sealing the jar with its magick contained inside.

Recognising Things in the Unfamiliar

It was wonderful to watch guests #GoExplore the woods here at Fox Covert & interact with wild spaces in an alternative way to our more traditional events & workshops. No knots were tied, no hard skills practiced & not an axe in sight. What is very familiar however is a deep respect, appreciation, understanding & love for the natural world.

It’s a pleasure to continue to diversify the array of activities held at Fox Covert & I get the feeling this is just the start...
