Hunting Through History

Take a journey back through the centuries & discover how man has always hunted.

*Please note no animals will be harmed at this event, hunting techniques are for demonstration & education only*

Here we will take a close look at hunting techniques throughout history from early man right up to the modern age while we recreate some of these activities that have been crucial in our evolution.

At this event we will:-

- will look at traditional projectile hunting using and atlatl & bow

- creating our own atlatl & practicing it's use on the lawn

- focusing on passive hunting methods such as snares and traps

- learn to set & take down a functional hunting snare

- create your won traditional fishing spear

- learn to use safely use a rifle in the woodland setting

- discuss the legalities of these practices

- use a variety of common tools to create your own function pieces of equipment

Throughout this event you will have the opportunity to use a variety of traditional cutting tools in the woodland setting in addition to learning practical knots & rope work.

- Air Rifle

- Axe

- Bow

- Fixed blade knife

- Folding saw
