Foraged Herb Salve Workshop

The art of creating balms & savles from dried herbs found thoughout the countryside is a time honoured traditional craft that we're thrilled to bring you this Winter

Throughout this workshop you will have the opportuniuty to create both nettle & yarrow salves, yours to take home, each with their own benefits & properties

Yarrow (Achillea millefolium)

Yarrow is a flowering perennial that grows abundantly across Europe, North America &Asia. It has a rich history as one of the oldest plants used medicinally, with reports of its use dating back almost 3,000 years

Historically the plant has been used topically to treat burns, small cuts & grazes, stem bleeding & is thought to act as an anti-inflammatory & antioxidant

Stinging Nettle (Urtica)

Easily identified & abundantly sources across the counrtyside is the humble stinging nettle.  This common plan you no doubt see almost on a daily basis has been used in herbology for centuries & holds some fantasic secrets

This plant holds wonderful antioxidents & when worked into salve & is believed to aid in alleviating inflammations, swellings, pain, soreness & skin irritations like psoriasis, eczema and insect bites

Throughout this workshop, under the guidance of professionals,  you will have the opportunity to:

- Create your own foraged herb salve

- Make two or three, why not, you'll have the time

- Learn traditional fire making skills

- Socailise with like minedfolk

- Foster & deepen your nature connection

As always the fire's always lit & warm drinks are compementary

Feel free to bring your own kit & equipment, method of combustion, tools etc.  but not to worry if not, all equipment needed to complete all activities will be provided by Fara Kanna Bushcraft
